Back to Basics: Everyday Activism – Knowing is Protecting
Date: Saturday, May 15, 2010
Place: Harbor Point Hall, 270 Mt. Vernon Street, Dorchester, MA
For over twenty years the Bayard Rustin Community Breakfast has recognized the roles of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people from communities of color in the fight against the AIDS epidemic. It is an inspiring event drawn from the human rights, civil rights and social activism of the incomparable Bayard Rustin.
In 2009 we celebrated our 20th anniversary breakfast, honoring the late Dr. LeBaron Moseby, Jr. and Rev. Martin D. McLee, J.D., for their vision and service. Dr. Nancy Norman, M.D., MPH, Chief Medical Officer at the Boston Public Health Commission, was our Keynote Speaker. For a full review of our 20th anniversary breakfast, check out AIDS Action Committee's Summer 2009 issue of Update.

Harbor to the Bay
is a one day bike ride from Boston to Provincetown that improves community awareness and care for people living with HIV and AIDS. Our mission is to give 100% of what we raise to our beneficiaries! No politics, no elaborate production -- just a dedicated group of individuals who want to ride and make a difference in our community. This is a grass roots initiative, and we are solely run by volunteers!
